  1. Tsimane, Headwaters of the Secure River:

One of the most remote, jungle experiences for fishing. It sits at the headwaters of the Secure river in an Indigenous Tribe area in Bolivia. It is best known as a place to fish for both Golden Dorado (a fierce predator which follow the migrating Sabalo) places to fish for Golden Dorado and for large South American Blue Pacu.

Getting there along is quite an experience with a flight to La Paz, then a small plane to the village.

Most of the fishing is done either via dugout canoes of wading. There is a lot of jungle travel and river crossings from point to point.

It’s all worth it if your catch the two target species.

  1. Seychelles: Aphonse Island: Chasing GT’s, Milkfish, Bonefish and Sails

Set in the very heart of the Indian Ocean, Alphonse Island is located around 250 miles Southwest of Mahe, Seychelles and around 800 miles Southeast of Somalia.

Besides being an an easy place to catch bonefish (multiple per days and large sized), there are also multiple species to target: GT’s, Milkfish, Parrotfish, Sailfish and near shore Grouper/Snapper in a variety of species.

New Orleans: What can be said except it’s a great place for food, entertainment, and Redfish. It’s hard to go there and not gain 5 lbs. It’s also an interesting place to target some odd, but hard to catch canal fish like vegetarian Carp.

  1. New Zealand : Both the North and South Island

The North Island has a tremendous and scenic fishing in and around Tongariro Lodge primarily for lake and river trout.  It also has a relatively unfished area way up north in the Bay of the Isles. In the Bay of Isles, the primary target species are grouper, kingfish and three specific local fish (somewhat harder to catch).

The Hapuku, a species of wreckfish, found in New Zealand, Australia and parts of South Africa.

Kahawai: Also know as the Australian or New Zealand Salmon. Although called a Salmon, it is actually not related to either the trout or Salmon fishes.

Jackass Morwong: Found in in the South Western Pacific Ocean.

Zealand:  A world recognized destination for lake and river trout in unbelievably beautiful settings. It’s another place where it’s hard to not fish, eat
